Ground Penetrating Radar Utilized to Locate Underground Lines at Coast Guard Station - Newport, OR

The United States Coast Guard contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Portland to locate underground pipes and utilities at their Newport, OR base. The base was planning to install a new backup generator on the grounds and wanted to know where the existing lines ran as to plan a route around them in the construction process. Ground penetrating radar & radio detection were used to map the lines on the surface with their corresponding depths. The methods that are utilized by GPRS are extremely accurate and cost effective, providing instantaneous results with a small margin of error. The facility could now move forward with planning a route that will not conflict with any current underground obstructions.
